The Integral System for Peace rejects aggressions against the Nydia Erika Bautista Foundation

The Integral System for Peace, in accordance with its mandate to guarantee the rights of the victims of the armed conflict conferred by Legislative Act 01 of 2017, rejects and expresses its deep concern over the attacks and intimidation of which the Nydia Erika Bautista Foundation, an organization that represents victims of enforced disappearance before the entities that make up this Integral System, has been a victim.

According to the complaint made by the organization, in the early morning of June 5, 2022, a man entered the headquarters of the Foundation taking sensitive information related to internal and external events of the organization, as well as photographs of the victims, members of the work team and of the victim families accompanied by the Foundation. This aggression is in addition to other facts that the Nidya Erika Bautista Foundation has been denouncing since May 2022.

The Nydia Erika Bautista Foundation has actively participated before the Integral System. It is one of the organizations that represents victims of forced disappearance before the macro-cases of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), and last May 30 it submitted recommendations to the Truth Commission to be taken into account in the Final Report. For its part, the Unit for the Search for Missing Persons (UBPD) recognizes the historic struggle led by the Nidia Erika Bautista Foundation and expresses its solidarity with the facts denounced.

The Integral System urges the competent authorities to carry out an effective investigation to recover the stolen information and take actions to prevent future attacks against the organization.
