  Exige que cese la represion, se restablezca las libertades y garantias constitucionales, se ordene la inmediata e incondicional libertad de todas las personas que hayan sido detenidas, se suspendan las órdenes de captura como consecuencia del golpe de Estado. Manifestamos nuestra solidaridad y apoyo al pueblo hondureno, en particular a los defensores y defensoras de derechos humanos, exigiendo las garantias y respeto a su ejercicio conforme a la Declaracion de las Naciones Unidas sobre los defesores de derechos humanos.

  The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) repudiates the violent repression of the protest carried out by the indigenous communities in several departments of Colombia, which as of October 16 had resulted in one indigenous person dead, more than 100 wounded -many gravely-, and 8 families being evicted.

  The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and its member organization in Colombia, the José Alvear Restrepo Lawyers’ Collective (CCAJAR) are submitting today to the International Criminal Court (ICC) a communication on impunity for crimes against humanity committed by paramilitary members in Colombia.

  Paris - Geneva, October 17, 2006. The Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, a programme jointly undertaken by the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT), is pleased with the issuing of an admissibility report by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) on October 10, 2006, in the framework of a case on allegations concerning the international responsibility of the Colombian State for the attacks, acts of intimidation and harassment, and death threats that have been subjected upon members of the José Alvear Restrepo Lawyer’s Collective (Corporación Colectivo de Abogados José Alvear Restrepo - CCAJAR).
